SCRIPTURE UNION ASSEMBLY
Good morning school. We would like to begin our scripture union assembly with The scripture portion read by Isha The inspirational reading by Rizpah Samaon, The thought for the day by Jenna Luke and the prayer by Nysha Shere The Scripture reading: Jesus, the Light of the world The instruction on the label is very clear: “ Needs full sun ”. Our yard has mostly shade. It is not suitable for plants that need full sun. But I liked the plant , liked its colour, liked the shape of its leaves and it’s size, I liked the fragrance of its flowers. So I bought it, brought it home, planted it in my yard, and took really good care of it .But the plant was not at all happy at my yard. My care and attention were not enough. It needed sunlight, which I could not provide. I thought I could make up for the lack of light by giving the plant some other kind of attention. But it did not work that way. Plants should be given what they needed. So with the people. Although we can survive for a while in less than ideal conditions, we can’t thrive. In addition to our basic physical needs ,we also have spiritual needs that can’t be met by any other substitute. Scripture says that we are the children of light and the light is Jesus Christ. This means that we need to live in the full light of God’s presence to thrive. If we try to live in darkness, we will not be able to reflect His light to the world. But if we are living in the light of Jesus, the light of the world, we will produce the reflection of His light . Thought for the day: You may be healthy and wealthy. You may be beautiful and famous. You may not lack anything physically. Still you lack something. You lack Jesus , the light of the world. If you don’t have this bright light in your life, you are spiritually in darkness. When the light comes darkness disappears. There is no substitute for Jesus Christ. There is no disappointment with Jesus. Let us pray: O Lord, our Heavenly Father, we thank and praise you for this beautiful morning. Lord, we thank you for all the blessings you have showered upon us and our school. O Lord, before we begin our duties, we come into our presence for your blessings . Lord, I pray for our Principal , Vice Principal , Administrators , teachers and students of our school . Bless each one of us. I commit all the activities of our school into your mighty hands, specially the Valedictory function which we are going to have this evening. Bless the programme Lord. We pray for all our ICSE,IGCSE and ISC children who are preparing for their board exam.Fill them with your heavenly wisdom.. Guide and direct us to do the right things today. In Jesus’ most precious name I pray. Amen. Let us continue with the Lord’s Prayer Our Father………….. Stand to attention for the school song THANK YOU !HAVE A BLESSED DAY

Scripture Union Assembly
Good Morning School We would like to begin our Scripture Union Assembly with the Scripture portion read by Rosh , the inspirational reading by Alex and Keith, the thought for the day by Sarah and the prayer by Aaron Lobo . The Scripture reading: The Scripture reading is taken from Mathew chapter 6 verses 25 and 26. Therefore, I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry of its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. The Inspirational Reading: The presence of our Almighty God We are at the start of the new year. We do not know what kind of journey is lying ahead of us for the entire year. But we know for sure that our Good Lord is going to be with us each and every day of this year. This gives us great encouragement. An old woman and her husband were pioneer missionaries in Africa many years ago. Their work was among the cannibals. There was a feeling of fear as they approach the villages inhabited by cannibals. When they hear the beating of drums and the screaming of ritual dancers at night, often the missionary couple wonder what is going to happen to them. When the woman was asked what had sustained them for so many years in the mission field, she replied,”Our deepsense of God’s continual presence ” All of us face conflicts and threatening situations in life. Remember that we are not alone. Jesus has promised that He will neither leave us nor forsake us .He is our ever present, invisible sustainer. Sometimes in the midst of our insecure situations, in the midst of our agony and pain, in the midst of our dark moments, we may not be able to feel His presence. Our enemy will be visible to us .But believe that Jesus is standing by and telling us to move on. During World War II, a ship belonging to the British was in danger. The enemy ships were scattered about it, when it was crossing the Atlantic. The captain was given secret directions charting the route and the instruction given to him was, “Keep straight on”. After a few days out at sea, the crew spotted an enemy ship. It appeared to be following them. The captain immediately sent a coded message,”Enemy ship sighted. What shall I do?” The reply came from an unseenship “Keep straight on.I am standing by”.They couldn’t see any friendly ship, but the captain followed the instruction until the ship safely reached the port. Within a short time, a British warship came quietly into the same port. Although it had been out of sight, it was very much there to protect their ship from great danger. Today we are given the same instruction by our Almighty God, who is invisible to us,”Keep straight on. I am standing by”. With the assurance that our invisible Heavenly Father is standing by, let us move on. Thought for the day Have faith in God to lead you one day at a time. Today you walk beside Him, he knows what is ahead. Put your trust in him for your tomorrow. No one is hopeless whose hope is in God. To be able to look ahead and living each moment with a sense of God’s presence will make the New year glorious. Let us pray O Lord! our heavenly father! We praise you for every blessing which has come to us throughout our lives. Oh God, our master, as we look back, we give you thanks for every part of our life which you have filled with your kindness, love and mercy. Lord, as we are at the start of the new year, we thank you for your promises to be with us and lead us throughout the year. O Lord,You are the foundation upon which we build our life. You are our source of protection and strength. Protect us and lead us through hard times . We commit our principal, administrators, teachers and students into your mighty hands. Bless each one of us. In Jesus’ most precious name I pray. Amen! Let us continue with the Lord’s prayer Our Father who art in heaven…………… Stand to attention for the school song Thank You! Have a blessed day!
Guides and Scouts Camp
Report on the Guides and Scouts Camp Venue: Sai Inn Resort, Kihim: Alibaug Date:20th January, 2023 & 21st January 2023 The students of the Guides and Scouts Unit along with the I.A.Y.P. and R.S.P. Unit were taken on an overnight camp which was conducted by Mr. Shahazad Gandhi and his team. Mr. R. Pandhare, Mr. R. Singh, Ms. C. John, Mr. J. Fernandes and Dr. S. Fernandes accompanied the students on the camp. The camp began with a jumpstart as the children travelled by the Maldar Catamaran to Alibaug. On reaching Alibaug, they were more than excited to see their camp site. After a wholesome breakfast, the students had a study session where the basics of camping and the Morse Code was taught to them. Soon after lunch, the students paid five games in teams of ten. These were memory games, cricket-football fusion, the bucket game, cross and zero with caps and the blind fold game. These games challenged the children as they were based on team effort and time management. In the evening, the students’ rooms were inspected based on the cleanliness in the rooms. They also prepared charts that were going to be evaluated. Soon after dinner, the children enjoyed the campfire. Each troupe danced to a song that was assigned to them. The emphasis was more on participating and coming out of their shell. The next morning, the children were introduced to Yogi Kaizeen Buhariwala. A session on Baden Powell Exercise and Meditation was conducted for an hour. Soon after breakfast, the students who had written consent from their parents were allowed to swim while the others were given time to pack their bags. The last activity, that is, treasure hunt was conducted where the students’ wit and instincts were put to the test. After lunch, the students returned to Mumbai by the Ro-Ro Ferries. We assembled in the Parish Hall and the students left with fond memories. The students displayed a sense of responsibility throughout the trip. Each and every child was well behaved and disciplined. The organisers appreciated the school for inculcating moral values in every student. Parents and grandparents appreciated all the efforts taken by the school, the teachers as well as Mr. Shahazad Gandhi and his team. It was indeed a fruitful experience. Dr. S. Fernandes
