Morning Assembly -11.08.2022
CLASS: X D Class Teacher: Mrs. Liselle Lobo Introduction: Good morning school. Today’s assembly will be conducted by Std X D. The theme for today’s assembly is ‘Love for parents.’ The Scripture Portion will be read by _Samay Bafna___ A reading from the Holy Bible according to Ephesians-chapter 6,verses1-3 Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. ‘Honour your father and mother.’ This is the first commandment with a promise: If you honour your father and mother, ‘Things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.’ This is the word of the Lord. A story will be narrated by Triya Jain A Date with Mom A son took his old mother to a restaurant for an evening dinner. The mother being very old and weak dropped food on her skirt while eating. Other diners watched her in disgust while her son was calm. After she finished eating, her son who was not at all embarrassed, he quietly took her to the wash room, wiped the food particles, removed the stains, combed her hair and fitted her spectacles firmly. When they came out, the entire restaurant was watching them in dead silence, not able to grasp how someone could embarrass themselves publicly like that. The son settled the bill and started walking out with his mother. At that time, an old man amongst the dinerscalled out to the son and asked him, “Don’t you think you have left something behind?”. The son replied, “No sir, I haven’t”.The old man retorted, “Yes, you have! You left a lesson for every son and hope for every mother”. The reflection will be read by Shasan Bandhari Imagine a parent who loves a child with burning love. They are committed in every way to the care and wellbeing of their child. Their love is steady and irrevocable from the time of their birth till adulthood. Now imagine the pain in this parent’s heart if at some point their child walks out on them and fully rejects their love. Never doubt for a single moment the irrevocable love your parent has for you. The Thought for the day will be given by _Hunain Memon_ Behind every young child who believes in himself is a parent who believed first. Morning Assembly – 05.08.2022
Good morning school, today’s assembly will be conducted by the students of the Scripture Union: The scripture portion will be read by Sherlin. The Inspirational reading will be shared by Winona. The Reflection will be read by Kimaya. Aaron will lead us in prayer followed by the Lord’s prayer. Today’s scripture portion is taken from Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Inspirational Reading: In his classic book The Human Condition, Thomas Keating shares this memorable tale. A teacher, having lost the key to his home, is on his hands and knees searching through the grass. When his disciples see him searching, they join the hunt, but with no success. Finally, “one of the more intelligent disciples” asks, “Master, have you any idea where you might have lost the key?” Their teacher replies, “Of course. I lost it in the house.” When they exclaim, “Then why are we looking for it out here?” he answers, “Isn’t it obvious? There is morelight here.” We have lost the key to “intimacy with God, the experience of God’s loving presence,” Keating concludes. “Without that experience, nothing else quite works; with it, almost anything works.” How easy it is to forget that even in life’s ups and downs, God remains the key to our deepest longings. But when we’re ready to stop looking in all the wrong places, God is there, ready to show us true rest. In Matthew 11, Jesus praises the Father for revealing His ways, not to the “wise and learned,” but “to little children” (v. 25). Then He invites “all you who are weary and burdened” (v. 28) to come to Him for rest. REFLECTION: Like little children, we can find true rest as we learn the ways of our Teacher, who’s “gentle and humble in heart” (v. 29). God is there, eager to welcome us home. When are you tempted to look for satisfaction and joy in the wrong places? What helps you remember to find peace, rest, and satisfaction in God instead? PRAYER: Dear Lord we thank and praise thy holy name. Loving God, how easily I’m drawn to seek satisfaction in whatever looks brightest. Help me turn to You to find true rest. Dear Lord give us the grace to understand that Your ways are not our ways and all things work together for good for all those who love and trust you. When surrounded by life’s worries, in you alone can we find true peace and solace. Grant us Your peace which surpasses all understanding. This prayer we ask in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen. Let us continue with the Lord’s prayer. Kindly stand to Attention for the School Song.
