The InterHouse Elocution was held on the 12th of July, 2023. The participants were from std V TO X. The poems recited were of a very high standard and had ranged from social issues to humour. The overall championship was bagged by Heber House followed by Malcolm, Barnes and Willoughby House respectively. The judges gavepositive feedback and appreciated the choice of poems. The programme was conducted in a highly organised manner and was carried out smoothly by the teachers of the Hindi department.
The Inter-house English Debates were held on 7th July 2023. Two sessions were conducted: Category 1: Standard 7 and 8, Category 2: Standard 9 and 10 and ISC. The topics were declared an hour prior and the participants brainstormed and did their research in the school library. The topics were age appropriate and well-balanced. The four houses had two speakers, one for the proposition and one for the opposition. The students presented their stances with conviction. The Rebuttal round was the highlight of the event. It was indeed a war of words. The judges were pleased with the arguments put forth and praised the calibre of the students. Heber House was declared the Champion House bagging first place in all three categories. There were best speaker awards given to a speaker of each category. The programme ended with a vote of thanks.
