This is the word of the Lord
Our Response: Thanks be to God.

Theme: Gratitude

We will now listen to a poem on Gratitude – By Edgar Albert
Be grateful for the kindly friends that walk along your way,
Be grateful for the skies of blue that smile from day to day,
Be grateful for the health you own, the work you find to do,
For round about you, there are men less fortunate than you.

Be grateful for the growing trees, the roses soon to bloom,
The tenderness of kindly hearts that shared your days of the gloom,
Be grateful for the morning dew, the grass beneath your feet,
The soft caresses of your babes and all their laughter are sweet.

Acquire the grateful habit, learn to see how blessed you are,
How much there is to gladden life, how little life to mar!
And what if rain shall fall today and you with grief are sad,
Be grateful that you can recall the joys that you have had.

The Thought for The Day:
“Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are charming gardeners who make our souls
blossom.”

Kindly compose yourself for prayer:
Gracious God, we thank you for sending your Son Jesus into the world to show us the way to true

and lasting peace. Open our minds and heart so that we might hear His message of peace and unity,
and allow it to take root in our lives. We ask you this in Jesus’ name. Amen

Let us now say The Lord’s Prayer. Our Father, … …

The Moral of the Day: Gratitude – whether we experience it ourselves or receive it from other
people, can be of great benefit to us. We are all better off if we are kind to each other and
appreciative of what we have.
