Class: Grade 6
Good afternoon school. I am Areebah Fatima and I would like to welcome you all to this afternoon assembly.
Let’s start today’s assembly by remembering God whose blessings boost our energy to lead us through.
Kindly join us in singing the hymn: This is the day …
The scripture will be read by Areebah Fatima
The story will be narrated by Tiannah Amlani
Husaina Master will lead us in prayer and Juheeta Banerjee will read Preamble.
Today’s Scripture reading is taken from the book of First Samuel chapter 16 verse 7 -The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.
This is the Word of the Lord. (Thanks be to God)
Kindly be seated and listen to today’s short story
JRD Tata had a friend who used to say that he misplaces and loses his pen very often. He was worried about his carelessness. JRD suggested to him to buy the costliest pen he could afford and see what happens.
His friend agreed and did purchase a 22-carat gold Cross pen. Six months later when they met, JRD Tata asked if he continues to misplace his pen. His friend said that he was very careful now, about his costly pen and was surprised how he has changed. JRD explained to him that the value of the pen made the difference and there was nothing wrong with him as a person.
This is what happens in our life. We are careful with things which we value most.
If we value our health, we will be careful about what and how we eat;
if we value our friends, we will treat them with respect;
if we value money, we will be careful while spending;
if we value our time, we will not waste it;
if we value a relationship, we will not break it.
Thought for the day: Value yourself, You are important.
Kindly compose yourself for the prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Open our hearts and reveal all limiting images in our minds and replace them with facts that glorify us and represent our potential. Lord, help us to value ourselves as we are the Creation of Your hands.
We ask this prayer in the name of Jesus,
Amen.
Let us now say The Lord’s Prayer.
Kindly stand at attention when the Preamble is read.
Now let us sing the school song.
Thank you and have a wonderful day
