Owing to the pandemic, after a long break of almost two and a half years, the students from schools across South Mumbai socialized and competed against one another at various events held at Immaculata, 2022. The students of Christ Church School left no stone unturned to prepare for events that they were shortlisted in. A meeting was held one day prior for the entire contingent by Ms. Valencia LeBlond and Dr. Simone Fernandes wherein students were given information about the reporting time. The students were also given a set of rules that they would have to follow. The teachers oriented the students about their behavior and moral dressing. On the day of the event, we were pleased to see that all the students followed every single instruction to the tee.
Ms. Valencia LeBlond and Dr. Simone Fernandes, along with the Contingent Leaders, Raj Parmar and Anayna Dordi led 73 students of Christ Church School throughout the day. Mr. Dominic Rosario and Mr. Andre Pimenta were present for the first half of the event, that is, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. while Ms. Fatema Dilawer came by to prep and encourage her students. Preparations for the event began way before the summer vacation. Several teachers were roped in to train students across standards 8, 9, and 10 for the event. This included street play, acapella, art and craft, sports, a dose of fashion, and so on. The students put their best foot forward and it was the football team that proved their mettle by bagging second place at Mercurial Flair (football). The team members received individual certificates and a trophy. The following students were participants at Mercurial Flair:
- Abizer Manasawala
- Kavya Rathod
- Maazyar Sinor
- Abdaar Chasmawala
- Yug Daglia
- Jai Haria
A special mention was made of Hassaan Qureshi at the J.A.M. event (Just A Minute) for his meticulous way of speaking, his deep thoughts, and his knowledge of several authors. The host and J.A.M. master presented him with special Immaculata merchandise and appreciated him.
With not much time in hand, the students put forward their very best so that their school and teachers were not let down. With a jumpstart like Immaculata, one can rest assured that the students of Christ Church School will be gearing up to add more laurels to their school name.
