Scripture Reading :
Today’s scripture reading has been taken from Proverbs Chapter 3 verse 22
Train up a child in the way he should go even when he is old, he will not depart from it.
This is the word of the Lord.
Story
One day a famous painter painted a picture and put it on exhibition with the tag line, “Not for sale. But it was such a beautiful painting that whosoever attended that exhibition asked the painter to sell that painting for whatever amount he will ask for. But every time, he said “I am extremely sorry I can’t sell this for any amount. I will sell it only to that person who will understand its value”.
Then an old man came to that painter and said,” I want to buy this painting, and here is the price in the small box for it”.
The painter took that box and opened it. In it, there was a paintbrush and colors. And he gave that painting to that old man. All other people surprisingly asked the painter, “ Why did you sell it for a paintbrush and few colors?’We were offering you a huge amount, are you crazy? “
The painter said,” If you noticed the painting, there is a man who is teaching a kid to paint with so much dedication. So, the man in the picture is this old man and that kid is me. He is my teacher who taught me to paint and whatsoever I am today is just because of his dedication and blessings. And, the real value of this painting is just a paintbrush which is given by my teacher and this paintbrush is more valuable than your wealth. With this paint and brush, I can paint many more paintings”.
A teacher always gives his best wealth to his students in the form of knowledge, wisdom, and art.
Thought for the day
A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, and touches a heart.
Let us pray
Lord bless the teachers who give their heart to teaching. Thank you for the special gift that you have given them and for giving them a spirit of grace and compassion. May they have the strength and endurance to perform their many tasks and may they know and feel the deep gratitude of those whom they teach. Amen
Please join us in saying the Lord’s prayer together.
