Morning Assembly – 23.09.2022

Good morning school.

We would like to begin our scripture union assembly with
The scripture portion read by …Darsh and the inspirational reading by Alex.
The thought for the day will be given by…Zephan and the prayer will be said by Sarah Mendonca.

THE SCRIPTURE READING
The scripture portion is taken from Psalms 34 verses 4 to 8
I sought the Lord, and he heard me and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto him and were lightened, and their faces were not ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. This is the word of the Lord.

The inspirational reading: Jesus, it’s Jim…Jim, it’s Jesus
There was an old man called Jim. He was working for a factory far away from his house. He was a lonely man and had no one to take care of him.Every day he prepares his lunch and takes it with him to the factory.
There was a church near the factory where he was working. Every day at lunch break, he runs into the church, goes up to the altar and he doesn’t stay long enough to say a long prayer. He used to be there only for a few minutes, as the lunch break is very short. He just tells, “ Jesus, It’s Jim”. After that, he waits a minute and goes away. Then he runs to his factory to have his lunch. This happens at 12 noon every day.
Sometime later, the poor old Jim was knocked down by a truck, and was taken to the city hospital where he settled down quite happily while his leg was fractured.

In the hospital room where Jim had been admitted the chair for the visitors was aiways empty, because he did not have any family members to visit him. At 12 noon Jim was restless, as he was missing his church visit and prayer. But do you know what happened to Jim at 12 o’ clock ?
A bright light entered into his room exactly at 12 o’ clock and Jim could feel the presence of God and he heard a very clear and sweet voice “Jim, It’s Jesus”. This happened everyday till Jim was discharged from the hospital.
The prayer which comes from the depths of a humble heart with few words or even without words is definitely answered by our loving God.
What an awesome God we have!

Thought for the day;
Prayer is the most powerful thing in the universe. Nothing can take the place of prayer.
Ask God for things that are impossible, because with God nothing is impossible.
He is waiting to show you great and mighty things when you pray and only when you pray.

LET US PRAY
O Lord, our Heavenly Father, we thank and praise you for this beautiful morning. Lord, we thank you for your love and mercy upon our school.
Lord, I pray for our principal, vice Principal, administrators, board members, teachers, and students of our school. Bless each one of us. I commit all the activities of our school to your mighty hands. Bless them O! Lord.
Lord, I pray for the sick and the poor. Bless all those who are facing difficult times in life. Give them the strength and courage to pass through the tough time. Guide and direct us to do the right things today. In Jesus’ most precious name I pray. Amen.

Let us continue with the Lord’s Prayer: Our Father…………..
Stand to attention for the school song. Thank you and have a blessed day
