Class: Grade 6
Good afternoon school. I am Husaina Master from Grade 6 and I would like to welcome you all to this afternoon assembly.
Let’s start today’s assembly by remembering God whose blessings boost our energy to lead us through.
Kindly join us in singing the hymn:
The scripture will be read by Husaina Master.
The story will be narrated by Raaya Jain followed by Krisha Bafna for the thought for the day.
Zysha Dalvi will lead us in prayer and in Pledge.
Today’s Scripture reading is taken from the Epistle to Colossians chapter 4 verse 6: Let your speech at all times be gracious and pleasant, seasoned with salt, so that you will know how to answer each one
This is the Word of the Lord. (Thanks be to God)
Kindly be seated and listen to today’s short story
“There once was a little boy who had a very bad temper. His father decided to hand him a bag of nails and said that every time the boy lost his temper, he had to hammer a nail into the fence.
On the first day, the boy hammered 37 nails into that fence.
The boy gradually began to control his temper , and the number of nails he was hammering into the fence slowly decreased. He discovered it was easier to control his temper than to hammer those nails into the fence.
Finally, the day came when the boy didn’t lose his temper at all. He told his father the news and the father suggested that the boy should now pull out a nail every day he kept his temper under control.
The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence.
His father said,’ The nails were like the bad words you hammered onto people They left a scar on the people’s minds. They will remain forever.’
The boy understood his mistake and promised his parents his parents that he would be a kind and polite boy.
Thought for the day: “Let you words be polite and kind.”
Let us reflect upon ‘your words seasoned with salt’ Many use salt to clean stains from coffee pots and vases. Salt removes rust from household appliances . For our speech to be gracious and seasoned with salt, our words should express tolerance, thankfulness, and kindness.
Kindly compose yourself for the prayer:
Heavenly Father,
I thank you for the grace You have showered on us I pray that my words will encourage, motivate, edify and build up the people I come into contact with and even those around, who hear my voice.Let Your voice become my voice We ask this prayer in the name of Jesus,
Amen.
Let us now say The Lord’s Prayer.
Kindly stand at attention to take the Pledge.
Now let us sing the National song.
Thank you and have a wonderful day.
