Scripture Reading Is taken from Peter Chapter 3: verses 10 to 12
For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil

The Short Story: Socrates’ Triple Filter Test
In ancient Greece, Socrates was highly reputed to hold knowledge. One day an acquaintance met the great philosopher and said, “Do you know what I just heard about your friend?”
“Hold on a minute,” Socrates replied. “Before telling me anything, I’d like you to pass a little test. It’s called the Triple Filter Test.”
“Triple filter?”
“That’s right,” Socrates continued. “Before you talk to me about my friend, it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you’re going to say. That’s why I call it the triple filter test.”
“The first filter is TRUTH. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?”
“No,” the man said, “actually I just heard about it and…”
“All right,” said Socrates. “So you don’t really know if it’s true or not. Now let’s try the second filter, the filter of GOODNESS. Is what you are about to tell me about my friend, something good?”
“No, on the contrary…”
“So,” Socrates continued, “you want to tell me something bad about him, but you’re not certain it’s true. You may still pass the test though because there’s one filter left: the filter of USEFULNESS. Is what you want to tell me about my friend going to be useful to me?”
“No, not really.”
“Well,” concluded Socrates, “if what you want to tell me is neither true nor good nor even useful, why tell it to me at all?”
This is why Socrates was a great philosopher and held in such high esteem. We should all use this triple filter each time we hear loose talk about any of our friends, family, and other associates.

Thought for the day: “Teach this triple truth to all: A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service and compassion are the things that renew humanity.”
—Buddha

Let us pray-
Anointed One, help me to live in truth, to speak it, to know it, and experience it. Empower me with honesty especially when it is difficult to execute it. Help me to realize the truth will always set me free while a lie will always continue to grow. Give me faith, wisdom, and knowledge to execute the truth through every situation I face. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray, Amen!

The Lord’s Prayer –
Significance of the Day: World Rabies Day is observed on the 28th of September every year to make people aware of the prevention of rabies and to highlight the progress in defeating this horrifying disease.
