DATE:12-06-2023 Good Morning School ,today’s assembly will be conducted by the students of the Scripture Union. The Scripture portion will be read by Jenna Luke A short story will be narrated by Kimaya D’souza The thought for the day will be given by Winona Barde The prayer will be recited by Naysa Shere Today’s scripture portion is taken from the Gospel according toMatthewChapter 10:Verses29-31 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. INSPIRATIONAL READING :Even though you’re damaged, you still have value “A popular speaker started off a seminar by holding up a $20 bill. A crowd of 200 had gathered to hear him speak. He asked, ‘Who would like this $20 bill?’ 200 hands went up. He said, ‘I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this.’ He crumpled the bill up. He then asked, ‘Who still wants it?’ All 200 hands were still raised. ‘Well,’ he replied, ‘What if I do this?’ Then he dropped the bill on the ground and stomped on it with his shoes. He picked it up, and showed it to the crowd. The bill was all crumpled and dirty. ‘Now who still wants it?’ All the hands still went up. ‘My friends, I have just showed you a very important lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20.’ REFLECTION: Many times, in our lives, life crumples us and grinds us into the dirt. We make bad decisions or deal with poor circumstances. We feel worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. You are special – Don’t ever forget it!’ Thought for the Day: “Value yourself because you are special. Appreciate yourself because you are unique. Cherish yourself because you are exceptional. Love yourself because you are you.” Kindly join your hands and close your eyes as Naysa leads us in prayer followed by the Lord’s prayer. Let us Pray: Dear Lord, we exalt and bless thy holy name for bringing us back together after the refreshing summer break. DearLord ,when we consider Thy works and Thy amazing greatness, we don’t have words to describe how wonderfully and beautifully each one of us is created. The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. STORY There was a farmer who sold a pound of butter to a baker. One day the baker decided to weigh the butter to see if he was getting the right amount, which he wasn’t. Angry about this, he took the farmer to court. The judge asked the farmer if he was using any measure to weight the butter. The farmer replied, “Your Honour, I am primitive. I don’t have a proper measure, but I do have a scale.” The judge asked, “Then how do you weigh the butter?” The farmer replied;“Your Honour, long before the baker started buying butter from me, I have been buying a pound loaf of bread from him. Every day when the baker brings the bread, I put it on the scale and give him the same weight in butter. If anyone is to be blamed, it is the baker.” The moral of the story is: In life, you get what you give. Don’t try and cheat others. PRAYER Let us pray Join your hands and bow your heads for the prayer. Dear Lord, Thank you for today. Thank you, Lord for Your protection and love. Help us to focus our hearts and minds on all that we do in our School. Guide us by your eternal light as we discover more about the world around us. We ask all this in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen. Let us continue by saying the Lord’s Prayer together.
