SCRIPTURE READING Today’s Scripture Reading has been taken from the letter of St. Paul to the Ephesians, Chapter 4 Verse 25. “Therefore, having laid aside falsehood, each one of you speak the truth with his neighbour, for we are members of one another”. The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. STORY There was a farmer who sold a pound of butter to a baker. One day the baker decided to weigh the butter to see if he was getting the right amount, which he wasn’t. Angry about this, he took the farmer to court. The judge asked the farmer if he was using any measure to weight the butter. The farmer replied, “Your Honour, I am primitive. I don’t have a proper measure, but I do have a scale.” The judge asked, “Then how do you weigh the butter?” The farmer replied;“Your Honour, long before the baker started buying butter from me, I have been buying a pound loaf of bread from him. Every day when the baker brings the bread, I put it on the scale and give him the same weight in butter. If anyone is to be blamed, it is the baker.” The moral of the story is: In life, you get what you give. Don’t try and cheat others. PRAYER Let us pray Join your hands and bow your heads for the prayer. Dear Lord, Thank you for today. Thank you, Lord for Your protection and love. Help us to focus our hearts and minds on all that we do in our School. Guide us by your eternal light as we discover more about the world around us. We ask all this in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen. Let us continue by saying the Lord’s Prayer together.
